Workshop - Safer Chest Binding - Sunday, March 3rd at 6:00 pm

This is an interactive workshop about everything that is involved in safer chest binding. We will discuss why people bind, binding materials, how much people bind, what side effects or symptoms people experience as a result of binding, and how best to manage different types of symptoms. By the end of the discussion, you will have confidence in your ability to get the most benefit from chest binding with the least amount of side effects, and how to manage any side effects you do experience. I will teach you three exercises to address the most common symptoms, and then we will finish up with an open Q&A/discussion.

Meaghan Ray is a nonbinary physiotherapist and PhD student in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Alberta. They are studying chest binding, the symptoms it produces, and how people manage these symptoms. They have run safer binding workshops for youth and are providing the results of their research to the community on Instagram @chest_binding_support.
