You may have many feelings about visiting a sex toy store, regardless of how many times you have been before. In case you’re not sure about coming into a sex toy store, we wanted to give you an idea of what will happen when you do – in hopes that it will both ease your mind and pique your curiosity.

What to Expect when you visit the TTT:

When you enter the store you will be greeted by one of our lovely team members. We will give you a quick “hello” and ask if you have any questions or need help finding anything. If you would like to browse, we will leave you to it, but we are always available and happy to help if questions arise! We may check in if we see you browsing a certain area for a while to see if we can help, specifically at the lubricant shelf - there are a lot to choose from and we are enthusiastic to point you in the right direction. 

In the front part of the store you will notice a free resource shelf – then some books, some of the vibrators we carry, games, storage cases, massage oils, condoms, and lubricant. As you move farther back  through the store you’ll find  more vibrators, butt plugs, our kink section, gender affirming gear, rope, pillows, dildos, and pride merch.

We have demos of most of the toys so you can see how they feel in your hands (key word: HANDS, no you cannot test them out in other places.) This is an added bonus of coming into the store to shop - you can play around with the different toys to see if you like their texture, firmness, vibration quality etc. before purchasing. Much like anywhere else you may shop, we do not offer a satisfaction guarantee on toys (although we do offer at least a 30 day warrantee against breakage – up to 2 years on some rechargeable toys). Everyone has different preferences and we cannot promise that a certain toy will make you feel a certain way. Additionally, we would not be comfortable accepting and reselling toys that customers returned after trying them out, and we think our customers can appreciate that. We can, however, provide you with as much information as we can for you to make an educated decision.  The cool thing about most sex toys is that they can be used in more than one way!

Product knowledge is a big part of staff training at the Traveling Tickle Trunk and providing you with factual information about toys and sexual health in general is a big part of what we do! If there is something we do not know, we will do our very best to find out or point you in the direct of some other resources.

It can be nerve-wracking to ask a question about sex toys or sexual health, but we promise that we will not place any judgement on your experience and that we hold everything our customers say to us in the strictest of confidence– no one you know will ever even know you were at the Tickle Trunk unless you tell them!

We truly have heard it all before. We help people find their first toy every single day. We also chat with people about pelvic pain, trying on their first binder, finding their next implement for their upcoming scene, or looking for the best lubricant for anal play all the time. Even on the rare occasion that we have not heard your question before, you will be treated with respect and we will do our best to give you a suitable solution!

Remember that respect is a two-way street – we work in an adult store and we love sex toys but that doesn’t mean we want to be hit on, touched, verbally abused or told details about your body or your sex life that don’t relate to what we’re taking about.  Be cool and kind – we’ll always be cool and kind to you!

 

Some details you might want to know.

The Traveling Tickle Trunk is located at 9923 82 Avenue, in Edmonton. Our current store hours (as of July 2022) are 12 pm-6 pm Tuesday and Wednesday, and 12 pm-8 pm Thursday-Saturday. We are closed to in-store shopping, but are around for pickup orders on Sunday (12 pm-4 pm) and Monday (12 pm- 5pm).

If you are unable to swing by the store or if visiting in person does not feel comfortable to you, we have online shopping available here. You can choose to have your order delivered or there is a free pickup option. If you are picking up your items, you can either pop in the store, ring the doorbell at the front or back, or give us a call when you’re here and we’ll run it out to you if possible.

There is parking available in the back parking lot in the alley, although because we share it with our neighboring businesses, there are often limited spaces. There is paid street parking in front of the store which is currently free after 6 pm each day and all day on Sundays. We are located near the intersection of 99th street and Whyte Avenue and are on a number of transit routes. Specifically, ETS bus number 4 stops right in front of the store.

At the entrance to the store there is hand sanitizer and disposable masks available. Both are optional, but we request that you use sanitizer if you want to handle the toy demos. Mask use is currently not required, but appreciated. The store is wheelchair accessible for most chairs, walkers and scooters, depending on how wide they are. The door is not automatic and opens outwards towards the street. A staff member will be around if you need assistance with the door.

All of our rechargeable products come with a minimum 1 year warranty, some are more dependent on the brand. This means that if your product stops working as it should within that time frame, we can exchange it for a new one – you must have the box and the receipt for it. We will tell you about your product's warranty when you are making your purchase and it will say on your receipt as well. If you are uncertain if your product is eligible for warranty, give us a call or send us an email and we will sort it out together. When you come into the store with a seemingly defective product, we will try out a couple things on our end to see if we can get it to work (charging it with a different charger, trying new batteries, etc.) before making the exchange.

When you are making your purchase, we may also ask you if you have any questions about your new toy, ie. “Do you have a water-based lube to use with this silicone dildo?” or “have you had a fleshlight product before and are familiar with cleaning them?”. We want to make sure you are equipped with the knowledge and tools to have a safe and pleasure experience when you go home.
